Credentialing

about.jpgCOMMISSION ON PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIALING

The mission of the Commission on Professional Credentialing (CPC) is to assist in the professional development of the fire and emergency service personnel by providing guidance for career planning through participation in the Professional Designation Program.

The CPC is home to the Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Designation Program - a highly recognized credentialing system, establishing the industry-wide standard for measuring job performance. Following the tragic events of September 11, 2001, EMS and fire services are closely scrutinized — more than ever before. As we progress through the 21st century, it is critical that agencies have a well-defined measurement tool to evaluate their effectiveness.
